Immediate Needs – Monetary Donations for Beds

We are in need of monetary donations to be able to support foster parents and grandparents with beds that are critical in order to place our precious children coming into the system.

For those caregivers who are low income or live paycheck to paycheck, buying a bed mandatory for a placement can be a challenge. We have too many kids coming into the system to have a bed be a barrier to that open home.

We have many requests for cribs ($150), twins ($150), and bunks ($350) to keep siblings together. Please consider making a donation online at

ANY amount is helpful to obtaining these resources. We all may not be called to foster, but we must support those who do. These are our kids.

“All My Sons” Play to Benefit James Storehouse – Louisiana

Evangeline’s goal is to provide Broadway quality theater to the Northshore and give our patrons a great evening or afternoon out, while also helping to serve the community.  Our fundraising goal is to raise enough funds to produce the show, so that we can then donate 50% of all of our ticket profits to James Storehouse, a local non-profit that helps foster children, from babies and toddlers all the way up to teenagers that have aged out of the system and have no place to go.

We’re bringing Arthur Miller’s first Broadway hit, “All My Sons” to Covington, this October 13-22, 2017, on stage at the Fuhrmann Auditorium.  Miller went on to write “The Crucible” and “Death of a Salesman”, but his first success was “All My Sons”.  It’s a great drama set just after World War 2 that’s about family, love, war, and the bond between fathers and sons.

Northshore Enduring Hope

This is the village at work on behalf of kids and families in the system! Through James Storehouse outreach, we were able to connect resources to the foster parents who attend this region’s first and only foster parent support group, Northshore Enduring Hope led by Doree Kelly. Southeastern Louisiana’s Pi Beta Phi Alumni Club came and offered a literacy program from Pre-K to 3rd grade. With kids lagging behind in reading due to family struggles and many transitions, this is a welcomed resource. Mercy Print Ministry was also in attendance to offer ongoing support to foster families and special event coordination for the kids to have fun outings on occasion. Ms. Terrilynn Bowe, a supervisor for child welfare, was also there to be a bridge of support and liaison which helps to strengthen the relationship between fosters and the system. Thank you to everyone working on behalf of the children! We love seeing all these empowering connections happening in our hub of love.
